Belina Pupa, a therapist and influencer known on social media with over 80,000 followers, is facing justice in Australia, after being accused of cultivating a large amount of cannabis and illegally interfering with the electricity supply.
Belina, who is the wife of famous Albanian actor Elvis Pupa, appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates' Court on Tuesday. She has not yet entered a plea to the charges against her.
According to court documents, the incident is alleged to have occurred between January 1 and April 4, 2025, at a property in Ascot Park, where 43 cannabis plants were discovered.
Her lawyer asked the court to change the conditions of her conditional release, arguing that Pupa has an international business and needs to travel to Albania for work purposes.
"She has clients in Albania, the US and Australia, and spends about three months a year in Albania, where she also offers her services on television," the courtroom was told.
The prosecution strongly opposed the request, describing the case as serious and adding that her partner, Vis Pupa, a co-accused in the case, has fled the country and is currently wanted.
The magistrate decided to postpone the hearing and allowed Belina Pupa to remain on bail until the next hearing, which will be held next week.
Pupa has a well-known public profile, with numerous appearances on informative television shows and notable activity in promoting mental well-being and psychological health, especially in the Albanian community in the diaspora.

An internationally renowned social media influencer, therapist and business owner has faced court, accused of growing 43 cannabis plants at a property in Ascot Park - while prosecutors claim her partner, and co-accused, has fled the country.
Belina Pupa, 39, has a social media presence with over 80,000 followers on Facebook and Instagram – where she posts content focused on “helping people of all ages improve their well-being, physical and psychological health”.
Ms Pupa, from Semaphore, appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Tuesday and has yet to enter a plea to one charge of cultivating a commercial quantity of a controlled drug and another charge of interfering with an electrical supply without a permit.
Ms. Pupa, founder of “One Healthy Mind,” has connections to Albania and has appeared on several television news segments.
On her website, she describes herself as someone with “a wealth of experience in leading and transforming mental health services in both Albania and South Australia.”
The site also suggests that Ms. Pupa has been a university professor in law in Albania, worked in real estate and finance in the US, and has also been a family and school counselor in Adelaide.
On Tuesday, before Magistrate Natalie Browne, Ms. Pupa's defense attorney requested a change to his client's current bail conditions to allow her to travel abroad for work purposes.
“Your Honor, Ms. Pupa is a social worker and therapist with an international business – she works with clients all over the world, mainly of Albanian origin,” he said. “Her clientele is located in Albania, America and Australia.
“She travels about three months a year to return to Albania while she does her work on television.
“She has a significant online presence related to her business. Overall, the requirement is that Ms. Pupa be able to travel to Albania in order to continue her business.”
Court documents, obtained by The Advertiser, allege that Ms. Pupa cultivated marijuana between January 1 and April 4 of this year.
