Actress Ana Lika has shared a painful and very personal story related to the period after the loss of her mother.
While she was a guest on Orinda Hutes' 'Mam', she revealed for the first time that she has been diagnosed with a neurological problem, a form of epilepsy.
She made the difficult decision to stop breastfeeding, fearing that she might not be fit as a mother. Ana said that she had also asked her partner, Bjordi, if he wanted to stay by her side, as she did not want to be a burden to anyone.
"After losing my mother, I was diagnosed with a neurological problem, a form of epilepsy. When I was doing the first ultrasound of my baby, I had a full-blown epileptic seizure. I was afraid to show that I was sick. I stopped breastfeeding because I didn't want my baby to have an incompetent mother, I decided not to breastfeed him. I told Bjordi: if you wanted to stay with me, you were free, because I didn't want to be a burden to anyone," said Ana Lika.
