One of the cars in the former Italian prime minister's collection, a Maserati Quattroporte V8, will go up for auction two and a half months after his death.
Proceeds from the sale of this Maserati at the Modena Meets Milan auction on September 2 will go to the Dino Ferrari Center for research into the treatment of neuromuscular, neurodegenerative and cerebrovascular diseases.
The Maserati Quattroporte V8 was gifted to Berlusconi in 2004, when he was Prime Minister of Italy, by Luca Cordero di Montezemolo, then chairman of Ferrari and Maserati.
The starting price of the car is currently unknown, but it will certainly attract the interest of Italian collectors.
Along with this, other vehicles to be auctioned on September 2 are a Honda X8R scooter that belonged to MotoGP legend Valentino Ross, a Luca Marini motorcycle as well as a host of racing suits, helmets and gloves from the likes of Marco Melandri, Loris Capirossi and Andrea Dovizioso.
