Former model and presenter, Barbara d'Urso, was one of the icons of 'Mediaset', the media company formed by the late Silvio Berlusconi. We say 'was', as the famous Barbara has already been removed from the moderation of the show 'Pomeriggio5', which has been broadcast for 15 years. It is learned that D'Urso has been replaced by presenter Myrta Merlino.
It was she who shared this news with everyone, through a post on Instagram.
"In a few days, the 16th edition of 'Pomeriggio5' will start, the first without me. I have created and curated that program with love for 15 years and it is a matter of pride for me that a program born, raised and identified with me continues to bear the same name," she wrote.
Furthermore, Barbara d'Urso recalls the launch of the program that started in 2008.
"It was September 1, 2008 when Claudio Brachino and I, then director of Videonews, first created Mattino5 and then Pomeriggo5, as well as Domenica5. It was an incredible adventure, which allowed me to continue social battles, to interview all the political leaders until the last election campaign, to inform and keep you company during the dark months of the pandemic. With dedication and selflessness, I have been at the full service of the company for 15 years, she continues, following their indications until the last episode of this year, without skipping a single meeting. Whatever happened in my life, I was there, faithful above all to the commitment, for me inviolable, that I had with you. We did all this with a very small budget, which has been my strength in the company since the beginning of this extraordinary adventure, aiming for maximum performance at minimum cost. It wasn't always easy, but Pomeriggio5 was my home and I made the sacrifices with a smile, even when we were forced to go on air without an audience, from the production center that was a cathedral in the desert during the lockdowns and then continued like that for two years and half," Barbara wrote.
