A 14-year-old girl has tragically lost her life after allegedly undergoing breast augmentation surgery.
The victim is Paloma Nicole Arellano, who died in a hospital in Durango, Mexico, a week after the procedure. The death certificate listed cerebral edema caused by a respiratory illness as the cause.
But the 14-year-old's father, Carlos Arellano, insists that doctors are hiding the truth. According to him, breast implants are behind this tragedy.
"Her death certificate incorrectly stated 'illness' in an attempt to hide the truth," the deceased's father said.
Carlos Arellano claims he only learned at his daughter's funeral that she had undergone cosmetic surgery, when he saw the scars and implants.
"They gave us the certificate right away. I don't know how they did it so quickly," he added.
Broken by grief, the father of the deceased 14-year-old has filed an official complaint:
"I demand that all those responsible be investigated."
How did the serious incident happen?
Meanwhile, local media reports that Carlos had received a call from his ex-partner the day before the tragedy. The mother and daughter had told him that they had tested positive for Covid-19 and were going to the mountains of Durango to isolate themselves in a house that had no phone service.
He had been worried about their health, but had never suspected that something dark might be hidden behind that phone call. The truth only came to light on the day of the young woman's funeral, where Carlos discovered that his daughter had not died from complications of an illness, but from a cosmetic surgical procedure that she had secretly undergone.
On September 12, while the father believed his daughter was staying on the mountain, Paloma actually underwent surgery. The surgeon was no stranger, it was her mother's current partner, Victor "N", who performed the procedure with her consent, but not Carlos'.
The surgical intervention caused a series of devastating medical complications. What the young woman suffered was a week of agony. The aftereffects of the surgery were critical: cardiorespiratory arrest and severe brain swelling that prompted doctors to put the 14-year-old into a coma.
Only then, when the situation was desperate, did the mother decide to contact Carlos to inform him of his daughter's condition.
