Following the arrest of singer Besart Kelmendi, known as Gjesti, the owner of the Onima company, Erkand Shabani, has made his first direct reaction to the incident at the company's offices.
Through a post on Instagram, Shabani explained the reasons why he had chosen to remain silent until now:
"I was forced to speak out because of a widespread campaign of public deception."
He described Gjesti's action as a clear crime within the Onima offices, underlining the damage caused:
"This act has left behind material consequences for the company and serious psychological consequences for the staff, who have been terrorized at gunpoint."
Shabani announced that Gjesti had admitted his guilt before the justice system and apologized to the injured parties during the last court session. For this reason, the public statement had been postponed:
"The matter is now in the hands of the court, which is why I initially preferred not to make a public statement."
The owner of Onima has also announced a press conference next week, where the following will be announced:
-Videos of what he calls Gest's "shocking attacks";
-Financial reports showing that the company does not owe the artist a single cent.
Shabani said:
"I am determined to expose those individuals who have hoped to benefit financially from ONIMA through criminal methods. The publication of these materials is necessary not only to inform public opinion, but also to assist investigations into the activities of the artist and his management."
Details on the date and location of the conference are expected to be announced in the coming days. Gjesti has currently been in custody for 30 days following the incident.
