Shakira has been hospitalized after suffering from stomach problems, forcing the cancellation of her concert in Lima, Peru.
The 48-year-old singer announced via Instagram that she was taken to the emergency room on Saturday night and is currently receiving medical treatment.
Doctors recommended complete rest, forcing him to cancel the concert scheduled for yesterday, writes DailyMail.
"I am very sad that I cannot perform tonight. I hope to be better tomorrow," she said in her statement, promising that her team is working on a new date.
Shakira is currently in the midst of her "Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran" world tour, which kicked off this week in Brazil.
Her next concert is scheduled for February 20 in Colombia, before stopping in Chile, Argentina, Mexico, the US and Canada.
The "Hips Don't Lie" hitmaker recently attended the Grammy Awards, where her latest album won the award for best Latin pop album.
She was accompanied by her sons, Milan and Sasha, who she has with ex-partner Gerard Pique.
Meanwhile, her tour has sparked debate on social media, as some fans accuse her of copying the aesthetic of Beyonce's 'Renaissance' tour.
Despite the criticism, Shakira continues to enjoy her success and remains one of the most beloved artists on the international scene.
