Everything has an end! Life on Earth has an 'expiration date'

Life on Earth has an expiration date. The approach of this date depends on various conditions such as: the existence of water, chemical composition, temperature, environment, etc.

Different species live in different conditions, but they all depend on the Sun.

Without it, the existence of humans, animals and plants would not be possible. Therefore, the fate of all creatures is linked to that of the Sun. When the Sun "dies", the Earth will no longer be the planet we all know. The oceans will have evaporated and the people will have disappeared.

We don't know if the end will be sooner or later. Maybe climate change will drive us to rapid extinction, or maybe we'll survive longer as a species. What is clear is that the time will come when the evolution of the Sun changes the conditions that allow life today.

According to sources consulted by "Live Science", it is estimated that in about 1.3 billion years the human being will already be extinct, a few million years before the Sun "dies".

"Earth probably has about 4.5 billion years to live before the Sun becomes a red giant star and destroys it completely," said Ravi Kopparapu, a planetary scientist at NASA.

"Before that happens, rising temperatures will cause the oceans to evaporate and the atmosphere to disappear. At that point, humans will not be able to survive on Earth due to the heat and humid conditions. In about 2 billion years, the oceans may evaporate and the Sun's brightness will be more than 20% of what it is now. Some microorganisms can survive longer, but sooner or later they will also disappear," the scientist added.
