Christine Cabot, who was at the centre of one of the most viral incidents of 2025, has spoken out for the first time in months. In the wake of the Coldplay Kiss Cam scandal, she makes it clear that she has now turned the page, leaving Andy Byron behind.

"Lying is something I don't negotiate," she said characteristically, giving the impression of a new beginning.

On March 17, Cabot appeared on Oprah Winfrey's "The Oprah Podcast," where she spoke in great detail for the first time about what happened after the viral video, as well as her relationship with Byron. As she revealed, she has cut off all communication with him since mid-fall, citing a "gross lack of honesty and integrity."

Chronicle of "Coldplay Kiss Cam"

It all started in July 2025, at a Coldplay concert, when Cabot and Byron were seen hugging on the famous "kiss cam." The footage immediately went viral, sparking rumors of an extramarital affair.

The photo was also commented on by vocalist Chris Martin, who joked on stage that "they're probably in a relationship" or that "they're just really shy."

A few days later, Byron submitted his resignation from the Astronomer, and Cabot followed suit.

"He wasn't who I thought he was"

Christine Cabot was clear about the former CEO, noting that he wasn't being honest with her. " He wasn't the person he was presenting himself to me as," she said, adding that she believed he was also in the process of breaking up, which, as it turned out, wasn't entirely true.

Byron has not publicly commented on the incident to date.

What does it say about their relationship?

She revealed in December, in an interview with "The New York Times", that this particular concert was the first time their relationship had taken such a turn.

As she explained, they had discussed earlier in 2025 that the two were going through a breakup. Cabot was already separated and in the process of divorcing, and as she pointed out, they hadn't even kissed before that night. " There was a point where we just drifted apart," she admitted.

Effects and wave of reactions

However, the price was heavy. Christine Cabot found herself the target of vicious attacks, revealing that she had been the victim of doxxing, intimidation and defamation, receiving hundreds of phone calls, threats and even verbal harassment.

"I had to pay the price," she said, noting that Byron's silence made the situation even worse. " I would go pick up the kids from activities and the other mothers there would look at me strangely and talk to me very badly. It was very difficult for me," she noted.

"This is not a characteristic I would want in a friend, partner or employer,"  she added, referring to Byron's particular character.

Today, Cabot is trying to rebuild her life, although she admits she is also facing difficulties in her professional career after the scandal.

She believes things could have gone differently if Byron had come out in the open from the beginning, as her estranged husband did.

"People were accusing me, saying, 'She was divorced, but he wasn't,'"  she said, describing how the public image had been shaped to her detriment.

A case that is still under discussion

The Coldplay Kiss Cam incident continues to haunt the public, a prime example of how one moment can radically change someone's life. However, for Cabot the focus is now on a future with clear boundaries and a new beginning.
