"I don't fulfill my economic obligations to my son", with this accusation the singer Jonida Maliqi appeared a day ago at the doors of the Tirana Court where she sued her ex-husband, Gent Prizreni.
8 years after the divorce with the latter, Jonida, accompanied by her lawyer, went to the Court and demanded that her ex-husband fulfill the economic obligations to their son, Dan. As reported earlier, the former couple, through a signed agreement, have agreed that Gent Prizren must pay the amount of 2 thousand euros per month for their son, who needs special care due to his health condition. .
It didn't take long and Gent Prizren's reaction came. He decided to respond publicly to his ex-wife and posted the invoices of the last two months, specifically the months of October and November 2024, where it was shown that as it was compiled in the agreement, the sum of 2000 euros was deposited in the account of the mother of his son.
Well, after this public reaction of her ex-husband, even the singer did not keep her mouth shut and decided not to tolerate anymore and to come with facts to Gent Prizren. Jonida made available to the media the payments made to her account by Gent Prizreni, which belong to the period October 2022-March 2023.
As it seems, the ex-partner and the father of her son has not adhered to the agreement signed after the divorce. Contrary to what they had agreed, he did not deposit the amount of 2,000 euros for his son's alimony, but reduced it to 1,500 euros.
According to the singer, the agreed amount was paid by the ex-partner for the first few years and then he started paying less, claiming that it is a significant amount for the son's maintenance.
Among other things, Jonida notes that when their little boy, Dan, went to school, they agreed to split their son's annual tuition in half, based on this and the agreement signed in the dissolution of marriage, which specified that "future expenses would be shared".
"At the time the agreement was made, the boy did not go to school. The agreement has nothing about the school and we had agreed that the future expenses of the boy would be shared", she said among other things.
But, according to the singer, even this agreement was not respected by her ex-partner, stressing that throughout all these years she was the one who took care of paying for her son's school and her father contributed only the first two years and after he stopped it.
In fact, she says that he has not responded to his son's therapy, for which, as well as other obligations, he had to face alone. Jonida also has an indignation about the institutions of justice. Although he knocked on the doors of the bailiffs, they did not execute the Court's decision, which the Gent of Prizren himself agreed to.
This repeated situation for years has made Jonida Maliqi go to the Court of Tirana to seek justice. After all, as he claimed, this is a reality that many Albanian mothers face and justice must be established in the country and both sides undertake their responsibilities!
