Beyoncé's relationship with her half-brother, Nixon Knowles, has never been good.
The 14-year-old is the son of pop star father Matthew Knowles, who gave birth to Nixon while he was still married to Beyoncé's mother, Tina Knowles-Lawson. He also has a young daughter, born out of wedlock.
After breaking up with Matthew, the boy's mother, Alexandra, faced many difficulties, declaring bankruptcy and moving into a mobile home in 2014.
Beyonce has never tried to help her younger brother financially and reportedly refuses to meet him.
“She's a billionaire and she just bought the most expensive house in California ten miles from our house. But no, there was no contact," said Alexandra in a recent interview.
"My main concern was dealing with a child who asks: Why doesn't this person love me? I sit in the bathroom and cry sometimes because I don't know how to help him be himself," said Alexandra.
According to 'The Sun', Alexandra breaks down and cries while listening to one of Beyonce's songs, specifically the one titled "Ring Off", which tells the story of her father Matthew's infidelities.
"If you listen to Ring Off, that's the story," Alexandra, 52, said.
Until a few years ago, she and her son lived in a 2-bedroom mobile home until her close friend, actress Char Jackson, took them in. Only in 2017 Alexandra was able to rent her apartment.
Earlier this year, she and her son, Nixon, moved into a five-bedroom house in a Los Angeles suburb.
However, she is still sad that little Nixon will never meet his sister.
"I tell him, 'fame does not equal happiness,' so never covet what someone else has." But it's hard to see people living like billionaires. What is this kid thinking when I'm working 16 hour days to pay the bills? How does it feel?" she said.
However, she doesn't want to blame Beyoncé for this.
"I think that Beyonce is a wonderful person and has never done anything to hurt me," she concluded in her interview.
