A woman on TikTok explained that her boyfriend tattooed her eyes on his arm to cheat on her a week later. The video showed the girl named Aaliyah excited that her boyfriend got eyes tattooed on his arm.
In the original video, Aaliyah danced around her kitchen and posted several pictures of his arm and the photo of her eyes that he had used as a reference for the tattoo. She captioned the video, “me because my boyfriend loves my eyes”, showing her happiness and excitement as she showed her followers a photo of her now ex-boyfriend's arm. The video received over 3 million likes before it was deleted.
Aaliyah then did a duet with the original video revealing that her boyfriend cheated on her.
Many say relationship tattoos are 'cursed' and 'bad luck'. There is an infamous superstition that couples who get matching tattoos, their partner's name or anything else tattooed related to the other, curses their relationship.
The closest thing to an actual study is a 2006 post by the Body Modification Ezine, via Tattoo Authority, which says "Breakups happen to about 80% of people who get husband or wife name tattoos."
