Actress Julia Ilirjani, who returned to the public's attention after participating in Big Brother Vip 3, is running alongside the DP in the May 11 elections. In an interview with A2, she stated that Albania suffered regression during the last decade.
The actress said that she is certain that she receives support from the gray electorate and that she aims to represent the concerns of ordinary citizens.
"This regime does not match my tastes. I joined the reality show to reach the public more quickly. I want the words 'freedom and democracy' to be true and functional in this fragile democracy," Julia said, emphasizing the need for political rotation and the unification of opposition forces.
She further considers herself a strong voice in Parliament, promising to protect the interests of citizens and denounce their economic and social problems.
"I see myself in parliament as a woman who takes on all the concerns of everyday life. I will not talk nonsense and engage in interpersonal warfare with my political opponents. Things need to be talked about and if they are talked about 1, 2, 3 times, I will "break" their podium until they listen carefully to what I have to say," Ilrijani emphasized.
While criticizing the current government, Ilirjani emphasized that the economy remains one of the main concerns of citizens. He also mentioned the increase in housing prices and the economic difficulties of Albanian families.
"The glamorizers of this government are unprecedented. They even take jobs with a lot of gloss. What I really see is some more depressed people, with less money for those who work honestly, 500 euros went to a maid inside the ring road. 800 euros for a rented apartment. A citizen told me; I work 3 jobs and I fight with my wife every day because we don't find harmony because the economic rope is strangling us every day. A rope has been thrown at them that is a salary and it loosens and tightens it."
In conclusion, she called for mass participation in the elections, emphasizing civic responsibility for the future of the country.
