
A Bosnian influencer is facing charges of disrespecting the Turkish national flag after posting a video of herself jumping on a flagpole atop the historic Uchisar Castle in Cappadocia, Turkey. The video was shared to her 9,000 followers and prompted a backlash on social media.
The Nevsehir Governor's Office has confirmed that the woman is under investigation for insulting the flag and could face up to five years in prison on two separate charges.
A Turkish MP from the conservative AK Party, Emre Caliskan, condemned the action, stressing that the Turkish flag is "our honor, the apple of our eye" and warning that authorities will monitor the legal process.
