An awkward episode occurred between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle during their attendance at the prestigious TIME100 summit in New York, sparking comments and speculation on social media.
Upon arriving at the venue, Meghan and Harry were seen getting out of the car, but an awkward moment occurred when Prince Harry attempted to shake his wife's hand. Meghan, focused on greeting the crowd, didn't react to his gesture, or even see it. Harry was left behind, his hands in his pockets, looking unsure and a little out of place.
A little later, a similar scene was repeated, when Meghan walked past Harry without any interaction, again leaving him a step behind, as she greeted the guests confidently.
British body language expert Judi James commented on the moment for the Daily Mail, saying:
"Harry seemed to play the role of a 'reserve', silent and awkward, while Meghan dominated with obvious confidence. She used a typical 'open chest' gesture with her hands at 45 degrees and her wrists relaxed - a classic signal of high status and self-confidence."
James also added that Meghan was the one who controlled the situation and the cameras, initiating hugs and interactions, while Harry seemed more withdrawn and less smiling. "This is a big contrast to the role he once held as a senior member of the royal family," she said.
The video of the moment has gone viral online, sparking numerous reactions and comments as an act of ignorance.
While the two have not commented publicly on the moment, the scene has sparked speculation about the couple's new relationship dynamic in the public arena, especially after their withdrawal from royal duties and relocation to the US.
