The first divorce request based on an answer provided by Artificial Intelligence, via ChatGPT, has already occurred in Greece.
A woman decided to file for divorce from her husband of 12 years with whom she has two children because she asked ChatGPT … to read her coffee cup and the app decided, like … a fortune teller, that he was cheating on her with a new girl.
With the Artificial Intelligence app's answer in hand, the woman kicked her husband out of the house and filed for divorce, still trying to understand exactly what had happened, writes Greek media outlet Protothema.gr.
As he himself expressed, in a statement to ANT1… “my wife of 12 years has been dealing with various “trends” that are developing around us from time to time. In recent months, as part of a viral trend, she made two Greek coffees and told me laughingly after we drank them, that we should take a picture of the cups and ask chatGPT to show us the cup. I don't want to disappoint the result of the “science” in her cup without a young girl with the letter E, with whom I was cheating on her. When she saw her result from artificial intelligence in the coffee cup, unfortunately, she asked me to leave our house, while informing our children that we were getting divorced.
I left the house, giving her time to reason, but unfortunately my fears for her mental state were confirmed when I received a call from a lawyer who informed me of my wife's desire to dissolve our marriage by mutual consent.
After my refusal, three days later, I was served with a divorce petition, which contained what I mentioned to you. She had faced a similar problem in the past, after visiting an astrologer, and it took her a year to be convinced that none of what the stars had told her was true.”
The husband's lawyer, Phoebus Stroungaris, spoke to ANT1 about the incident, saying, among other things, that he would suggest that their two children file a lawsuit.
"My client is innocent until proven guilty on the absurdity of artificial intelligence." He did not want to part, because he considered all this nonsense, based on what I hear, I suggest he file a lawsuit to remove the custody of two minor children. "I can't believe that a person raising children would do something that Artificial Intelligence told him to do."
