American media have revealed for the first time a prison photo of Sean "Diddy" Combs, as he serves his sentence on prostitution charges in a low-security facility in New Jersey. The 56-year-old, once one of the most powerful figures in world music, appears gray-haired and with an irregular beard, far from his former image of luxury and style, reports A2 CNN.
After being sentenced in July to four years and two months in prison, Diddy was transferred to the Federal Correctional Institution, Fort Dix, on October 30. According to his representative Juda Engelmayer, Combs is committed to rehabilitation, sobriety and wants to serve as a positive example to others.
In prison, he has landed one of the most sought-after positions, assistant chaplain, where he helps with the religious library and organizes spiritual activities. In addition, Diddy has resumed his former program Free Game with Diddy, through which he teaches young inmates entrepreneurial skills and self-confidence. He is also part of a drug rehabilitation program, which could reduce his sentence by a year.
However, life in prison has not been without its problems. He has been punished for making a prohibited phone call and has been rumored to have consumed a fermented drink, allegations his representative denies.
In a letter to the judge before his sentencing, Diddy admitted that he was "sober for the first time in 25 years" and that he was struggling to cope with addiction and anger.
