Former Barcelona centre-back Gerard Pique was spotted at the Miami airport recently with his children from his relationship with Shakira.
Milan and Sasha were seen holding hands with their father while returning to Miami with their mother after spending a few days in Spain. This situation had been uncertain since Pique had asked Shakira's permission for the children to attend his brother's wedding.
The wedding, an important celebration for Pique's family, will take place on July 23. However, the popular artist immediately rejected the idea of allowing the children to accompany their father to their uncle's wedding. Shakira decided not to extend their stay in Barcelona beyond what was originally agreed upon.
According to journalist Pepe del Real, who shared the information in 'El programa de Ana Rosa', the separation agreement signed by Shakira and Pique has a clause that dictates who can live in the house and be with the children.
This clause was implemented by Shakira to protect the welfare of the minors and to ensure that persons who may only be in their father's life are not involved in their lives. The journalist explained:
Pique made every effort to reach an agreement with Shakira so that she would allow him, but the problem is that she informed him that the agreement says that his current partner, unless it is agreed by both parties and cannot share the same space with children.
In fact in relation to this case, when Pique arrived with the children, his current partner Clara Chia moved into her parents' house. Instead of sharing the same house, she stayed at her parents' house. Pique said: "If Shakira leaves the children with me, I cannot bring my current partner."
