A radio station in the UK has issued a public apology after mistakenly broadcasting the news that King Charles III had died .
This is Radio Caroline, based in Essex , which explained on social media that the incident occurred due to a computer fault in the central studio.
According to the radio station's manager, Peter Moore , the system inadvertently activated the protocol that British media keep ready for the death of a monarch.
"Due to a technical issue in the main studio, the procedure for announcing the death of the monarch was accidentally activated, causing the news to be incorrectly broadcast that His Majesty the King had passed away," Moore wrote on Facebook .
After the announcement was broadcast, the radio station interrupted its programming, as per official procedure. This caused alarm among the staff, who immediately restored normal broadcasts and issued an apology to listeners.
The radio station apologized to both King Charles III and the public for the inconvenience and confusion caused.
