One Direction were reportedly planning a comeback before the tragic death of singer Liam Payne.
The five members, including Zayn Malik, who left the boy band, had been "in talks to do one last show together before Payne's fatal incident on October 16," a source told Us Weekly.
Although plans have since been put on hold, the insider added that "there is a possibility that the concert will take place but it won't be the same for the band".
"The boys would like to pay tribute to Liam. They're all so broke right now they can't even think of this as a legitimate project, but it's been discussed,” the source said.
"Payne's sudden death has caused the boys immense sadness," according to the reporter, who called the loss "a wake-up call" for surviving band members Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Malik.
"Before, they kept in touch sporadically, but did not have close friendships at all. They're all still in mourning, but they're checking in on each other and feel closer than they've been in years. This event brought them together again", writes "Page Six".
