Liam Payne's girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, has said she lost the best part of herself after the singer's death aged 31.
A post-mortem report said the former One Direction member died of multiple trauma and internal and external bleeding after falling from the third-floor balcony of the Casa Sur Hotel in the Argentine capital, Buenos Aires.
Police officers and emergency services found the music star dead at the scene last week and his body was taken to the coroner's morgue.
In an Instagram post on Wednesday, a week after the singer's death, Cassidy wrote: “I don't even know where to start. My heart is broken in ways I can't put into words. I wish you could see the great influence you have had on the world, even though it is so dark now.
You brought so much happiness and positivity to everyone, millions of fans, your family, friends and especially me.
You are very nice. You are, because I can't say you were, my best friend, the love of my life and everyone you touched felt as special as I did. Your energy was contagious, lighting up any room you entered.
None of this is true and I can't wrap my head around this new reality of not having you here. I'm struggling to figure out how to live in a world without you by my side.
Together, we became children again, always finding joy in the smallest things.
Liam, you had the kindest spirit and the funniest spirit. I feel like I've lost the best part of myself.
I can't imagine a day without your laughter and love. You brought so much light into my life.”
Cassidy said the pair were sitting down manifesting their lives together a few weeks ago and discovered she had a note from the singer, which she had been keeping close.
According to Cassidy, Liam's note read: "Kate and I are getting married in a year/engaged and together forever 444."
“Liam, I know we'll be together forever, but not the way we planned. You will always be with me. I have gained a guardian angel. I will love you for the rest of my life and beyond, carrying our dreams and memories with me wherever I go ," she added.
Tributes have poured in for Payne since news of his death, including from his former partner Cheryl, his One Direction bandmates and music mogul Simon Cowell.
Payne's bandmates Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik and Harry Styles said in a joint statement they were completely devastated, adding: "The memories we shared with him will be treasured forever."
The singer's family said they were heartbroken at his death, adding: "Liam will live forever in our hearts and we will remember him for his kind, funny and brave spirit."
Payne found fame alongside his bandmates One Direction when X Factor creator Cowell brought them together to form the band on the music talent show in 2010.
