The former striker of the Russian national team, Dmitry Kirichenko, has commented on the goal of the striker of the Albanian national team, Nedim Bajrami, in EURO 2024, who broke his record by putting the ball into the net after only 22 seconds of play.
In the group stage match against Italy, Nedim Bajrami scored in the 22nd second of the match and broke the record of Kirichenko, who scored against Greece in EURO 2004 in the 67th second.
"I am very surprised that it was the Albanians who broke my record! I thought a more famous team would do it. So why be surprised? Well, they scored in the 22nd second. Happy," said the former Russian striker.
He added that: The only surprising thing is that my record lasted for twenty years! 67 seconds isn't that fast, so I'm surprised it took so many years to score faster. I didn't expect anything at all. I never thought about my Euro record in Portugal. Only if they remind me of it.
