
Barcelona secured an important 3–1 victory over Atletico Madrid at home, securing three important points in the title race.
The match started at a high pace and the first goal came in the 19th minute. Alex Baena scored a brilliant individual goal, beating several players and shooting accurately into the center of the goal, leaving goalkeeper Joan Garcia no chance. Atletico thus took a 0–1 lead.
Barcelona reacted quickly and in the 26th minute, Raphinha tied the score at 1–1 after a fantastic individual move. The Brazilian evaded several defenders and with a clever move, took the goalkeeper out of the game, easily putting the ball into the net.
The Catalans had the chance to overturn the score before the break, but Robert Lewandowski missed a penalty in the 37th minute, shooting too high over the crossbar.
In the second half, Barcelona increased their pressure and dominance. The turning point came in the 65th minute, when Dani Olmo finished off a beautiful team move with a precise shot from inside the area, sending the ball near the right post for the score of 2–1.
When it seemed like the match was heading towards the end, Ferran Torres sealed the triumph in the 90+6 minute, bringing the score to 3–1.
With this result, Barcelona is currently in first place with 37 points, while Athletico is in fourth place with 31 points.
