Protests erupted outside the away fans' area after the referee's final whistle at Pisa airport and on the plane that brought the team and some fans back to Bari.
Tensions erupted after Bari's devastating 5-0 defeat to Empoli in the first match under new coach Vincenzo Vivarini (predecessor Fabio Caserta who was fired in recent days).
As seen in several videos shared on social media, the presence of fans and players on the plane taking the team back to Puglia caused a heated confrontation between angry supporters and some players. The flight crew intervened to calm the situation.
The flight departed an hour late. After the match, sporting directors Magalini and Di Cesare apologized to the sporting community for the shameful performance at the Tuscan stadium. After 13 matches, Bari has 13 points and is in the play-off zone: the team will return to the field on December 4, in an away match against Juve Stabia.
???? Al entrar al avión los jugadores; sus aficionados commenzaron a applaudirles ironicamente, a insultarles ya abuchearles.
