Barcelona appoints police, Catalan team instructs players on incidents with fans

Barcelona players feel tired. Leaving the training center has almost become an ordeal for footballers. Every day there are groups of new fans looking for a video that can go "viral" or an autograph, which they then sell, and many of these fans (some influencers/tiktokers) do not hesitate to provoke players and achieve their goal.

The most recent case was that of Injigo Martinez, who was almost physically caught with a "tiktoker". This has brought the reaction of the club. Barça is looking for other, more complex solutions, which include the intervention of the police, because the measures so far have proved insufficient. Based on this situation, which the footballers have denounced, the club is holding meetings with the local police of Sant Joan Despí and the "Mossos d'Esquadra" (police) to see what they can do to stop these incidents, so that they do not repeat yourself. The players have also participated in talks to know how to act and not fall prey to provocations.

The young people who appear at the doors of the club have two objectives. On the one hand, they seek to record provocative videos that ensure a lot of views and interactions on social networks, for which they do not hesitate to harass, insult and even hit players' cars. The more energetic the reaction of the players, the greater the impact and visibility on social networks or other platforms. The other objective is to secure an autograph, either on a t-shirt or a photograph, or just a photo, and then sell it and make a financial profit. In some cases, they "lie" to the players that they are for charity, but it is to make money.

Talking to the players – The club holds regular meetings with the players to explain to them the dangers of being outside the premises, as you can find yourself in a crowd of people on public roads which could be the cause of incidents like the one with Injigo Martinez, as well as warn them of the consequences of falling into their provocations: reputational damage to the footballer and to the club.

Other measures - The club has decided a few months ago not to make public the training session schedules to prevent the presence of annoying elements. But so far this measure has not been effective. Meanwhile, as reported by the Spanish media, the Blaugrana club is drawing up a plan with the police forces of Barcelona, to escort the players with a patrol when they leave the team's training center. So far this has been impossible, due to issues of competence, but conditions may dictate an agreement.
