The biggest attention has shifted to the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympic Games, where skier Lara Kolturi will represent Albania, with the sole goal of positive performances.
The BBC has dedicated a 30-minute episode to Koltur, on the podcast "More than the Score." The BBC introduced the 19-year-old.
" Kolturi is only 19 years old, but she is one of the best skiers in slalom thanks to four podiums at the World Ski Championships. She will be part of the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympic Games and will have the opportunity to write history for Albania in this format if she manages to win a medal ."
Kolturi, in her speech, also spoke about past doubts between skating and skiing.
" I grew up in a house with a champion like Daniela Ceçarelli, who is not only my mother, but also my coach. At a young age I skied for fun and since I was 9-10 years old everyone told me that I would become like Mikaela Shiffrin, but at that time I didn't think much about this aspect, I just wanted to have fun. Four years ago I made a very important decision regarding my career as I was also quite good at figure skating. At the age of 15 I decided to dedicate myself completely to skiing and specifically slalom ", Kolturi confesses.
