New details emerge from the investigations into escorts that, together with those into the world of match-fixing, have shaken Italian football, and these details are brought to you by the Milanese daily "La Repubblica".
According to preliminary investigations, at least 70 professional footballers are suspected of having participated in the evenings organized by this agency. However, up to this stage of the procedure, no player is under investigation.
The report by “La Repubblica” describes luxurious events held in Milanese nightlife, where the packages included exclusive venues, escorts and, in some cases, the use of narcotic substances. Among them is the gas known as helium, which according to Italian media does not leave traces in anti-doping controls. The activity is suspected to have continued even during the pandemic.
The investigations began after a complaint made by one of the young girls involved in this network, who presented herself to the authorities in the summer of 2024.
In an attempt to dispute the accusations of links to prostitution, lawyer Marko Martini, who defends Emanuele Butinni and Deborah Ronci, has submitted documents to the judges to request the cancellation of the arrest measure.
One of the documents filed includes a wiretapped phone conversation between two agency associates, which mentions unpaid financial obligations by three footballers from the Torino, Sassuolo and Verona teams. According to the wiretap, the players had to pay a sum of 3,400 euros, an amount that investigators consider unjustified for just one dinner, raising suspicions that the payments could be related to sexual services.
The file also mentions significant spending on alcoholic beverages, including bottles of wine worth up to 20 thousand euros, tequila that amounted to 2400 euros, as well as a package called "Italian Mafia Show", consisting of champagne and vodka worth over 4000 euros.
The defense claims that all payments were related exclusively to alcohol consumption and event services, denying that the agency served as a cover for prostitution activity, an accusation that remains at the center of the Italian authorities' investigation.
