The United States of America started their adventure in the major tournament taking place in stadiums in the USA, Mexico and Canada with a victory. The American team triumphed 4-1 over Paraguay in the match held in Los Angeles.
Although President Donald Trump was not present at the stadium to follow the match closely, he conveyed his support for the team through a video message addressed to the players and technical staff. The message was widely published by American media and television.
In his speech, Trump praised the qualities of the national team, emphasizing that the USA has a strong team with talented footballers. According to him, the team has the potential to go all the way to the end of the competition and even be declared world champion.
The president called on the players led by coach Mauricio Pochettino to believe in their abilities and aim for the highest possible results in this tournament.
Trump also congratulated the team on a successful performance at the World Cup, and it is not ruled out that he will be present at one of the US national team's upcoming matches.
One of the options is the June 19 challenge in Seattle against Australia, or the June 26 match against Turkey, considered the strongest match in Group D, to be played at the Los Angeles Stadium in Inglewood, California.
