Kosovo champions Drita were defeated 2-0 by Copenhagen in the first leg of the second qualifying round of the Champions League. The match, played at Parken Stadium, started off with a bang for the home team, who tried to find the goal from the start, but were unable to do so.
In the 32nd minute, the Danes came close to scoring after a fantastic move, but the ball hit by Mohamed Eljonuzi hit both posts and fortunately for the Dardanians did not go into the net. The first half ended in a goalless draw. A good first half for the “Intellectuals”, knowing the opponent they were facing, the quality and the market value they have.
The score was unblocked in the 68th minute thanks to a penalty caused by full-back Redi Ovuka, who obstructed Eljonuzin inside the area. The newcomer to the field, Magnus Metson, proved to be accurate and sent the ball into Faton Maloku's net.
In the 75th minute, the scene repeated itself again, Redi Ovuka again caused a penalty after a wrong tackle this time on Metson. The referee decided for a penalty after the VAR signal, Magnus Metson was again accurate from the penalty spot and scored the second goal.
Final score, Copenhagen-Drita 2-0. The return match will be played in a week in Pristina.
