Carlo Ancelotti's future in doubt, the Court dismisses the President of the

Brazilian football currently remains without a leader. The Brazilian Football Federation has been dealt a blow recently, as the Court of Justice declared the election of president Ednaldo Rodriguez illegal and ordered his dismissal. Rodriguez became interim president of the federation in August 2021, when his predecessor resigned following allegations of sexual harassment.

Rodriguez's term was due to expire in April 2023, but in March 2022 it was bypassed with the signing of an agreement between Rodriguez and the Prosecutor's Office of Rio De Janeiro that allowed the election of the president definitively, as a single candidate. This very agreement was opposed by the vice-presidents of the Brazilian Federation, and therefore was declared illegal by the Court.

If these developments in Brazilian football remain in force, they could bring changes about the future of coach Carlo Ancelotti, whom Rodriguez had as the main candidate to take over the leadership of the Brazilian national team, a choice opposed by many figures. The situation may change, but the appeal must be awaited, which Rodriguez has the right to do within 30 days from the announcement of the court's decision.
