" Although it is in the most difficult possible group in the European Football Championship, Albania does not underestimate itself ". This is what the coach of Slovenia, Matjazh Kek, declared.
The Slovenian coach, in his last statement to the Croatian media, where it is known that Croatia is in the same group as the Reds, Italy and Spain, was also asked about the European draw. Coach Kek has spoken respectfully about the Albanian National Team, although it is considered not the favorite in Group B of "EURO 2024".
" If anyone should be worried, then it is someone else, not Croatia, who are second and third in the world, finalists of the League of Nations. It is clearly not the easiest group for Croatia. Play against Spain and Italy and that is motivating for the players. But I want to emphasize one thing in particular, Albania is not to be underestimated. Albania was first in its group. Albanians are extremely unsuitable ", said Matjazh Kek for "net.hr".
In another interview, the Slovenian selector emphasized that Croatia will have a more difficult time against Albania.
" While Croatia had excellent results, the Italians were not in two World Cups in a row. Of course, Croatia will more easily go to war with Italy than with any team that is not rated as high, but which is dangerous. I am convinced that the Croatians will have a harder time with Albania, who won the group, than with Spain or Italy ", said Kek for "index.hr".
Albania plays on June 15 against Italy. On June 19, they meet with Croatia, while on June 24, with Spain.
Meanwhile, Slovenia is in Group C along with Denmark, Serbia and England. Matjazh Kek leads Slovenia since 2018.
