The Albanian Football Federation has decided to change the calendar and stadiums of the “Final 4” matches, depending on the results that will be produced this weekend. The decision has brought reactions and criticism, as it is considered an intervention in the middle of the competition, changing the initial regulations of the activity.
According to the scenario made public by the Albanian Football Association, if the title race remains open after the next matches, the final matches will take place in parallel on May 31 at the “Air Albania” and “Elbasan Arena” stadiums. In this case, the Vllaznia-Elbasani match will be played in Tirana, while Egnatia-Dinamo will be played in Elbasan.
This change directly affects the initial plan of the "Final 4", which was presented as a tournament that would take place entirely on "Air Albania", with the argument of better organizational conditions, higher visibility and greater fan presence.
Another point that has sparked debate is the possibility of the Egnatia-Dinamo match being played in Elbasan, the city of one of the title rivals, which, according to critics, could violate the principle of fair competition.
However, the new scenario is not yet final. Everything will depend on the result of the Vllaznia-Egnatia match, which will be played this Saturday at “Air Albania”. If the Shkodra team wins, then Egnatia mathematically exits the competition due to direct confrontations, while Dinamo also loses the opportunity to catch up with Vllaznia in the standings.
In this situation, the Albanian Football Federation would return to the original plan of the "Final 4", with the matches scheduled on different days and the Vllaznia-Elbasani challenge that would decide the championship title.
