Adrian Bajrami has not been included in Switzerland's list for the 2026 World Cup, thus receiving a great disappointment on the eve of the most important international competition.
The coach of the Swedish national team, Murat Yakin, appeared at a press conference today, where he explained the reasons for the selections made for the tournament.
" Over the past few years we have created a very good team spirit and a strong unity in the team. We are approaching the World Cup with confidence and with a consolidated team. For this reason, it was important not to make major changes and rely on players we know well and who have proven themselves ," Jakin declared.
Meanwhile, Granit Xhaka and Ardon Jashari are also part of the Swiss squad. For captain Xhaka, this will be his fourth World Cup, equaling Xherdan Shaqiri's record.
In Bajrami's case, the absence from the list comes after his decision to represent Switzerland on the international stage.
