There are no winners at the "Volkparkstadion" in Hamburg. Georgia and the Czech Republic have not gone further than a 1-1 draw, complicating the qualification for the 1/16 round.
The Czechs came close to the goal in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper Mamardashvili denied the advantage to the friends.
In the 23rd minute, the Czech Republic found the goal of advantage. Hazlek converted for his side, but the Georgians protested for a handball inside the box and the goal was disallowed by VAR for offside.
When it was thought that the match would end with intact nets, in the 45th + 2nd minute, the referee awarded a penalty to Georgia for touching the ball with his hand inside the area. After consulting the VAR system, the referee decided to award the penalty.
In the 45+4th minute, striker Mikautadze was correct from the penalty, sending the Georgian fans into a frenzy.
Soon after, the Czech Republic had a golden chance to equalize, but Shik's shot was stopped by a wonderful save from Mamardashvili.
In the 59th minute, the Czechs equalized the score. Patrik Schick finally found the way to the net.
With this tie, the Czech Republic and Georgia hold the last place in the ranking with one point each.
The Czech Republic will play the next match with Turkey, while Georgia will face Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal.
Both of these meetings will be played on June 26 at 21:00.
