The weekend of the Grand Prix of Azerbaijan in Formula 1 started yesterday with the first two free practice sessions. The round was interrupted three times by the red flag, where the second and third time came due to the collision with the barriers, first by Sharl Leklerk and then by Franco Kolapinto.
Fortunately for the pilots, however, there were no physical consequences. The fastest time in the morning session was set by Red Bull's Max Verstappen, who stopped the clock in 1 minute, 45 seconds and 546 thousandths, 313 thousandths ahead of Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton. The third best time was scored by Sergio Perez (+0.376), winner in the last edition in Baku. Then it was the turn for the second session, where Sharl Leklerk appeared on stage.
After ranking tenth in the morning private, the Ferrari driver excelled in the second session, closing the day with the fastest time of 1 minute, 43 seconds and 484 thousandths. So the Monegasque put the accident behind him, showing a fantastic form in the second session. Behind him was the Red Bull car of Sergio Perez with only 6 thousandths of a difference, while third was Luis Hamilton with 66 thousandths slower.
