'We don't want to see things like this anymore.'
This is what French President Emmanuel Macron has said about the violent violence that gripped Paris after Paris Saint Germain's Champions League triumph, where they defeated Arsenal in the final on penalties.
The head of the Elysee described the acts of violence in Paris and other cities on Saturday evening as shameful.
'This is not football, this is not sport, this is not what we want,' Macron said as he welcomed the European champion team that carried the Cup with them with big ears - I thank the police, our gendarmes. We will not be flexible with those who have been arrested. We do not want to see such things anymore. It's over.'
Macron spoke of unacceptable scenes of violence and thanked the interior minister, the prefect and all the teams mobilized for this shameful event.
