Now, thoughts will be raised about the next season, where the possibility of a change in format cannot be ruled out, an option that was even mentioned by the president of the Albanian Football Federation in an interview given immediately after the end of the last matches of the championship.
"It is impossible for the next edition to have a change in the number of teams, due to the rules of the Albanian Football Association. As for the format, it is something that we need to discuss. Apparently, let's say the fans from the districts have difficulty traveling to Tirana," said President Duka, reports "TCH".
The head of the Albanian football government admitted that participation in the Final Four stage was justified by the absence of two capital clubs, Partizani and Tirana.
"Participation in the Final Four has not been satisfactory, of course it has been penalized by the non-participation of Partizan and Tirana. So, for the next edition we will review what format we will have. The teams will not be added in the 2026/2027 edition, I do not know if they will play four phases or there will be a play-off. We will see all the versions and make a decision, we will decide within the first 15 days of June", said Duka .
