French authorities found another person dead in the Seine River, while another man is in critical condition after a similar incident.
Celebrations for Paris Saint-Germain's historic victory in the UEFA Champions League have been accompanied by tragic events in the French capital, as authorities confirmed a second victim linked to the incidents of recent days in Paris.
According to French newspaper Le Parisien, authorities found the body of a man in the Seine River. Preliminary investigations indicate that he had fallen into the river during celebrations and was suspected to have been under the influence of a large amount of alcohol. The cause of death is believed to be drowning.
At the same time, French media are reporting that another man is in critical condition in hospital. According to preliminary information, he also fell into the Seine River under similar circumstances and is fighting for his life.
This is the second fatal case recorded in Paris after PSG's triumph in the Champions League final.
Earlier on Saturday evening, a man lost his life after the motorcycle he was riding crashed into a barricade set up by authorities due to riots that broke out during celebrations in the city.
