Images of FIFA president Gianni Infantino have gone viral on social media, after two photographs published online show him in two different stadiums during matches that started at the same time.
In one of the photos, Infantino appears in the stands of the MetLife Stadium in New York, where the Germany-Ecuador match was taking place . Meanwhile, another image shows him at the Philadelphia stadium, watching the Ivory Coast-Curacao match , which was being played in parallel.
The publication of these images has prompted numerous reactions online, with users raising the question of how the FIFA president could be in two different countries at the same time.
According to verification, the journey between New York and Philadelphia takes about an hour and a half by car, while a direct flight takes approximately 45 minutes. This makes it practically impossible for Infantino to have been physically present at both stadiums during the matches.
For this reason, suspicions have increased that at least one of the photos circulating online may have been manipulated or created with the help of Artificial Intelligence.
However, so far it has been confirmed that Gianni Infantino was present in the stadium stands during the Ivory Coast–Curacao match, while the authenticity of the other photo still remains a subject of discussion and has not been officially verified.
