The referees' mistake in the Tottenham-Liverpool match, already accepted by the English Premier League, has cost a bettor a lot. Tottenham-Liverpool ended 2-1, but the match was overshadowed by a mistake by the referees, who disallowed a regular goal by Luis Diaz in the 34th minute of the first half.
An English bettor failed to win the amount of 9510 pounds (nearly 11 thousand euros) because of this mistake.
He predicted Luis Diaz, Gakpo and Heung Min Son to score, as well as Destini Udogie, Ives Bisouma and Mek Allister to receive yellow cards. Batexhiu managed to find them all, with the exception of Diaz's goal, which was unfairly disallowed.
The Englishman reacted angrily on social networks where he also published his schedule. Here's the unlucky punter's reaction: "Someone's going to have to answer for this!"
The referees who were in VAR have been punished by being given a break for the next two weeks in the Premier League.
