Milan is experiencing a chaotic situation today, after the police raided the club's offices as well as the private residences of the current and former managers of the red and black team. The club is under investigation, as it is suspected that it never changed ownership, going from "Elliot" to "Red Bird" as it was announced in the summer of 2022.
In this way, many financial and sports regulations have been bypassed, for which it is expected that there will be various sanctions if proven. According to "La Gazzeta Dello Sport", for the violations in question, Milan can face punishments from fines to penalty points in the Italian championship from the Italian Federation, which the Reds and Blacks have denied the right to regular control of ownership documentation.
This also constitutes a legal violation beyond the sporting one, and in this way, the current administrator Xorxho Furlani and his predecessor Ivan Gazidis, both risk facing administrative measures that start with a fine, to go to imprisonment for up to 4 years, depending on the violation and if their inaction has brought fluctuations in the shares of various companies on the stock exchange that have a direct connection with Milan.
In the background, meanwhile, is the possible penalty from UEFA and according to the Italian newspaper, there is still no open investigation by it about this issue. But if it is proven that "Elliot" is still the owner of Milan, in parallel with the ownership of Lila, UEFA can decide on the exclusion of both clubs from Europe in the next season due to frauds in completing the documentation. The regulation stipulates that clubs should not have direct controlling ownership over different clubs participating in the same activity, and fraud in filling out documents in this matter is considered a serious violation.
