A crazy end gave Inter victory against Verona in the first match of 2024, the one that decreed the black and white as "Winter Champions" at the end of the first phase.
Inzaghi's side were expected to dominate the away team and they did, as they quickly found the back of the net with Lautaro Martinez and then took control of the game. But the blacks made the mistake of not closing the match and Henry's goal restored everything in the game with a few minutes left in the second half.
Arnautovic missed a couple of clear chances in front of goal as, in just the second minute of added time, Inter managed to score with Fratezi following a controversial corner kick as his teammates called for a foul.
It didn't end there, as Verona had a chance to equalize with a penalty awarded after Darmian's foul. But Henri made a mistake from the penalty spot by hitting the post and thus, Inter got the three points that separate them again from the chasing Juventus.
