Albanian national team coach Silvinjo has announced that he will continue to lead the team at least until July, leaving his future open after that deadline. The statement came at the press conference after the away match against Poland.
The Brazilian coach explained that the current contract is in force until July and any decision on the continuation will be made later, in collaboration with the Albanian Football Federation (FSHF). He stressed that he will not give up his salary for the remaining months in the event of a possible separation, thus respecting the terms of the renewed agreement before the "play-off" matches.
" The contract is until July and then we will decide. It has been a three-year journey where everything has happened... we are a growing team and I am proud of the way the players have presented themselves ," said Silvinjo.
National Team Performance
Since his appointment in January 2023, Silvinjo has achieved significant results with the Albanian national team. Qualifying for the European Championship and reaching the play-off stage for the World Cup are the highlights of this journey.
In total, in 33 matches under his leadership, Albania has recorded:
15 wins
7 draws
11 losses
The goal balance remains positive, with 40 goals scored and 29 conceded.
Defeat to Poland
The defeat to Poland in Warsaw was considered a severe blow to the team, especially after a 0-1 lead in the first half. The reversal of the result in the second half highlighted the difficulties in managing the game.
Upcoming matches
Albania will play a friendly match against Ukraine on March 31, while official commitments will return in September with the Nations League matches.
