The referee, originally from Deçan but active in Switzerland, Bekim Zogaj will no longer judge. The news was given by Zogaj himself, through a post on social networks. He will take the new post in the Helvetic Federation, after 14 years of work in the world of refereeing.
" Everything has an end. Even my career as a judge (assistant). It was an incredible journey, matches in Euro 2024, Champions League, Europa League, Conference League, Nations League and many other championships.
After the European Championship (Euro 2024), the Swiss Federation has offered me a position as deputy head of referees and head of assistants in Swiss professional football. From 1.10.2024, he will take up this position. The appearances at Euro 2024 were my last matches in the international arena. I will continue in Swiss football until 30.9.2024.
I want to thank my family, the Swiss Federation, Sandro Scharer and other colleagues for their support during these 14 years in elite football. A thank you to all of you, who have written, respected, motivated and criticized me, even advised me during this excellent journey ", wrote Zogaj, who was part of the Swiss team of referees in the European Championship.
