The remote conflict between RTSH moderator Hygerta Sako and Vllaznia coach Edi Martini has caused the latter to leave the live broadcast during the interview after the 1-1 draw in Tirana against Dinamo, valid for the first semi-final of the Albanian Cup.
The 'anger' between the pair seems to date back five years, with Sako saying that Martin was disappointed that he was not chosen as the 'Best Coach' of that season on the sports show where she continues to be a moderator.
In recent days, the 'conflict' returned to the scene after Vllaznia's 0-2 victory against Partizan. After the match, coach Martini 'stabbed' the moderator in the post-match interview, telling her to 'not be upset', as Sako is known as a Partizan supporter. After this moment, as Vllaznia explains in a public statement, the moderator of 'Supergol' on RTSH used the word 'impolite' for the Shkodra coach, which also led to Martini's reaction to apologize after the last match.
In a lack of empathy, Martini stood in front of the camera for only a few seconds and then left in protest.
"The Vllaznia Football Club strongly condemns the unacceptable statements and offensive language used by the RTSH moderator, Hygerta Sako, on the "Supergol" show, towards our team's coach, Edi Martini. Labeling our coach as "uneducated", made publicly and in his absence in the studio, constitutes a marked lack of professionalism, ethics and minimal respect towards an important figure in Albanian football.
"Following this situation, and due to the lack of an apology from Ms. Sako, our coach has chosen to interrupt and abandon the interview, as a fair reaction to this unacceptable treatment," Vllaznia writes.
Sako reacted by saying that Martini has an old grudge against her since 2021, calling his words offensive.
'I didn't want to make a statement at all, but seeing the unethical and insulting statements made against me, I feel it is necessary to clarify not only the public, but also the fans of Vllaznia and its presidency. This whole situation stems from a personal grudge of Edi Martini against me, which dates back to 2021, when as RTSH Sport we organized the "Best of the Year" event. In a transparent vote by 7 television studio specialists, among them honorable names such as Shkëlqim Muça, Sulejman Starova, Astrit Hafizi, Redi Jupi, etc., "says Sako, among others, continuing that Martini does not spare the insults against her.
