The Atlético Madrid team bus was pelted with stones shortly after arriving at the Camp Nou stadium ahead of the Champions League quarter-final first leg against Barcelona. The incident caused material damage, but no injuries were reported.
According to reports, two windows of the Madrid team bus were broken in the attack. This is not the first time such an incident has occurred, as a similar incident was recorded during a previous Copa del Rey match.
Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone has reacted to the situation, stressing that such events are repeated.
" This is not an isolated incident; it is what usually happens when we come to Barcelona ," the Argentine is quoted as saying to journalist Fabricio Romano.
In terms of sports, the first half of the match ended with a score of 0-1 in favor of Atletico Madrid. The advantage goal was scored by Julian Alvarez, who scored a spectacular goal from a free kick near the penalty area.
In the same action, Barcelona defender Kubarsi made a wrong tackle, being sent off and leaving the home team with one less player.
