Croatian footballer Jakov Jelkic has been found dead in Spain. He had gone missing on February 1 in the city of Alicante.
Although the autopsy results have not yet been released, Spanish police suspect that the death may have been due to an accident.
According to Spanish media, Jelkic's body was found at a depth of two meters, near a pier in the port, shortly before 6:30 PM, yesterday afternoon.
The 24-year-old footballer, a member of the Swiss club Granges-Paccot, played a football match with his team in Spain a few days ago and was last seen after midnight on Friday, after being with his teammates at a nightclub in Alicante.
She was reported missing on Saturday morning when he failed to show up at the hotel.
