Olsi Teqja has officially retired from football. The news was announced by the defender himself with a post on social networks.
Since his debut in Superiore, Teqja counts a total of 329 matches in his career where he scored 6 goals and 1 assist. In his repertoire, he has lifted the Cup of Albania 3 times with 3 different teams, Laçi, Tirana and Kukësi, while he also became the champion of North Macedonia with Shkëndija of Tetova.
Throughout his career, Teqja was known as a football player with grit, desire, passion and sports aggressiveness, typical of those players that coaches love at all costs on the field.
" I always thought about it, but I never accepted the fact that I would not play football again. The time has come for me to retire from this game that everyone loves so much and I am grateful for all the emotions that you gave me for almost 2 decades.
I thank all the teams where I played Oise, Beauvais, Shkëndija, Tirana, Kukësi, Laçi, Kastrioti, Apolonia, Bylis. The presidents, leaders, coaches I have worked with, especially all the players, friends and teammates I have known from sports. Together we spent unforgettable moments that we will remember with nostalgia.
Without forgetting a thank you to every fan because without you this game would have no meaning. See you again in new projects in the field of sports, giving my contribution and my experience ", writes Teqja.
