Antonio Candreva has hung up his boots today, carrying 38 years on his shoulders. The famous former Italy midfielder had a rich career that was all focused on his country.
He played the most matches for Lazio and Inter. It was from "San Siro" that he decided to convey some touching words about his journey in playing football.
" Dear football, today is one of the most important days in my life. The time has come to say goodbye. Here, in 'San Siro', the temple of football, where I played my last match.
"My journey began 30 years ago, filled with joy and pain, sacrifice and victory, and of course many emotions. I have lived my dream, my passion. I do not see this as a farewell, but simply as another starting point. Thank you football, see you soon ," says Kandreva.
