The Italian news agency ANSA has confirmed today that the Italian and Turkish Football Federations have sent an official letter to UEFA, where they submit a joint candidacy to organize the 2032 European Championship.
Italy and Turkey were the only candidates in the race to organize this event, but recently the two Federations have agreed to jointly organize it. Thus, having no other candidacy, it is expected that UEFA will confirm the development of the 2032 European Championship in these two countries.
The decision to come up with a joint candidacy came after a meeting that took place in Rome between the president of the Italian Football Federation, Gabriele Gravina, and the Turkish one, Mehmet Bujukeksi.
UEFA will decide on the winning country or candidacy on October 10 of this year, during a meeting of the executive committee, in Nyon (Switzerland). The 2024 European Championship will take place in Germany, but the host country of "EURO 2028" is still unknown.
